A New Lightning Type Contender, Pikachu VMAX!

Vivid Voltage gave us quite a few new VMAX cards; of all of them, the one that might be the best is Pikachu VMAX! Pikachu VMAX could become the new face of Lightning-based decks! This card has the potential to do a lot of damage and OHKO most V's and Tag Teams! Let's look at the list I have been using!

Pikachu VMAX - 044/185 - Vivid Voltage | Card Cavern TCGs | Pokemon Singles

This deck is structured pretty similarly to PikaRom decks, using the double Boltund V and having the Raichu & Alolan Raichu GX. But there are some other new additions to add to the power of Pikachu VMAX, like Electrode! With this deck, you usually want to go second to get a Boltund V in the active spot to use Electrify to accelerate energy to your Pikachu V! The next turn, you can evolve into Pikachu VMAX & attach energy to do G-Max Volt Tackle! Pikachu VMAX's attack does 120 damage, but if you discard all energy attached to it, you can do 150 more damage! This means you can do a total of 270 damage! This damage is not bad as it can take out most Tag Teams and basic V Pokémon in one hit!

Electrode - 046/185 - Vivid Voltage - Holo | Card Cavern TCGs | Pokemon Singles

After you use this attack, you want to move your Pikachu VMAX to the bench and repower it up with Electrify or with Tapu Koko Prism to put an energy back on it! Sometimes you can also re-attack in the active spot thanks to Electrode! Electrode's ability makes it knock itself out, but you can search your deck for 2 basic Lightning energy cards and attach them to your Lightning Pokémon in any way you like! This means you can use this ability to put 2 Lightning energy back on Pikachu VMAX and then attach an energy for the turn to re-attack! Of course, we also have the Raichu & Alolan Raichu GX to have the backup attacker option as you can use its attacks Tandem Shock to paralyze your opponent's active Pokémon! I play the promo Pikachu V because it has a decent attack with Circle Circuit, which does 30x damage for each of your benched Pokémon for 2 energy. This means you can do decent damage for cheap; it also can be useful against Zamazenta V! The Vivid Voltage Pikachu V is also useful here if you do not have the Promo Pikachu V!

One of the best cards in this deck is the three copies of Reset Stamps! Reset Stamp can really hurt the opponent if they have 1 or 2 prizes left; this card can combine well with Raichu & Alolan Raichu to Paralyze lock your opponent's active since their hand will be so small they may not have a way to switch out! Reset Stamp also goes well with Electrode as when you use Electrode's ability, you give your opponent an extra prize, but with Reset Stamp, you can combine these 2 cards to brick your opponent out of the game! Air Ballon and Switch are important for both the Raichu & Alolan Raichu GX & Pikachu VMAX. If you have to switch either out of the active spot, whether it be to re paralyze with Raichu & Alolan Raichu GX or move your energy-less Pikachu VMAX out of the active spot! Having a Vitality Band can be useful for Pikachu VMAX to one-shot an ADP as it has 280 HP! Vitality Band can be used with your other attackers to do more damage, which sometimes can help with the math! Some other cards that can be added to this deck include; -1 Speed Energy, +1 Basic Lightning Energy, Mallow & Lana, Tapu Koko V, Vikavolt V, Eldegoss V, 2nd Vitality Band, Energy Switch.

Pikachu VMAX feels pretty strong right now & has the potential to be the new big Lightning attacking deck!
